Start 2021 with a brand new concept outlet presented by The Connoisseur Concerto (tcc) combining gourmet food & beverages with style.
tcc art boutique caffè has newly opened at Great World. They used to be located at the office block, but has moved within the mall at #01-119.
The interior is also different from the other tcc outlets, designed to reflect elegance, accompanied by pastel-hued upholstery with bronze finishes for a contemporary, comfortable setting.
Other than taste, the kitchen team has also worked hard such that the items offered have visually appealing presentation. That means “instagrammable”.
The revamped menu offers everything from all-day breakfasts to appetisers, mains, and kids meals, down to a well-curated line of desserts, cakes, and healthier-choice beverages.
There are 12 new dishes in addition to tcc’s popular mainstays.
These include Soft-shell Crab Benedict ($20.80), Mille-Feuille Toast & Egg ($17.00), Garden Greens Salad ($15.00), Seafood Chowder in Bread Bowl ($19.50), Broccoli & Cheese Tortilla Bites ($11.80), Hot Wings & Fries ($16.90), Vegetarian Hawaiian Pasta “Pizza” ($17.80), Pulled Oyster Mushroom Burger ($15.00), Pan-Seared Salmon ($23.80), Stuffed Chicken Roulade ($22.00), Pancake Tiramisu ($13.80), and Belgian Waffles ($12.50).
Here’s more:
Soft-Shell Crab Benedict ($20.80)
A recommended all-day breakfast dish featuring two stacks on a base of parmesan-crusted English muffin, topped with a creamy slice of avocado, smoked chicken ham, soft-shell crab, poached egg, and micro greens.
So other than just a usual Eggs Ben, the kitchen team wanted a twist and therefore the added of crispy soft-shell crab which added both textural bite and light saltiness.
Served with a drizzling of hollandaise sauce with calamansi to add citrus notes to the creamy egg yolk and butter emulsion. Enjoy with a side of Mesclun salad.
Vegetarian Hawaiian Pasta “Pizza” ($17.80)
Can’t decide whether to get pasta or pizza?
Get this Hawaiian-inspired pasta-pizza main and get the best of both worlds. The pizza base is a bed of baked penne with herb tomato coulis.
For your toppings, you get vegetarian-friendly grilled oyster mushroom, pineapple chunks, and cherry tomato halves.
Here’s the best part – a 3-cheese melt. Mozzarella, orange cheddar and herb cheese are combined for an appetizing stretchy finish to your ‘pizza’ (Okay, I feel this is more a pasta than a pizza).
Pulled Oyster Mushroom Burger ($15)
Another recommended vegetarian dish, this burger captures the dramatic colour of black in its sesame-seeded charcoal bun.
Inside is a “patty” hand-pulled oysters mushroom, layered with pickled onions, purple cabbage slaw and alfalfa sprouts. Accompanied with thick potato fries coated with Japanese spice mixture shichimi – quite addictive.
Loved those robust and sweet BBQ flavours, that doesn’t make you feel you are actually having a ‘healthier’ option.
Should the meat-lover in you resist, feel free to replace the pulled oyster mushroom patty with a juicy Wagyu beef patty for an additional $8.
Cold Angel Hair Pasta ($23.90)
This must-try main is prepared with fine angel hair pasta and served cold for a different experience.
Beautiful in its simplicity, this exquisite pasta dish is an intermingling of ponzu-marinated salmon, scallop and black truffle paste.
The prized delicacy black truffle adds an alluring earthy aroma to the tangy scent from the ponzu.
Considering that many other Truffled Angel Hair Pasta are actually priced much higher, I thought this was quite value-for-its-money for the portion and quality.
If you prefer your pasta warm, other choices include Seafood Aglio Olio ($23.90), Baby Crayfish Spaghetti ($23.50), and Egg-Drop Spaghetti Bolognese ($18.90).
Pancake Tiramisu ($13.80)
As you head to the last stretch of your meal ie desserts, do check out the Belgian Waffles ($12.50), Dark Devotion of warm molten-centre dark chocolate cake ($13.80), or the recommended Pancake Tiramisu ($13.80).
Too pretty to devour, this gorgeously plated Pancake Tiramisu highlights house-made pancakes dipped in liqueur coffee.
In between the pillow soft cakes is a velvety mascarpone cream.
Decorated with world-famous Griottines (wild Morello cherries macerated in liqueur), berries gel, fresh wild berries, cocoa dust, and a delicate berries tuille.
Hacienda La Esmeralda Geisha ($19.80)
Pair off your delectable sweets with a gourmet coffee specialty.
Recognised as one of the world’s distinguished coffee producer, Hacienda La Esmeralda is located in the Highlands of Boquete, South-West region of the Republic of Panama.
Taste the Geisha known for its unique floral and citrus aromatics, prepared as a siphon-brewed coffee.
It carries a silky, black tea-like body, a delicate jasmine floral aroma with fruity notes of bergamot, and a lasting finish.
Fiery Punch ($12)
Under Blends & Sodas, try the Fiery Punch with its tropical feels ready to whisk you to an island off the Bahamas.
This drink brings you a tropical burst of sweet and spicy mango flavours. Yes, spicy.
If you are the type of love a bit of spiciness in sweets, like Chocolate Chilli, then this should thrill you. Though on a scale of 1-10, I would say that the spiciness level is really about 1 to 1.5. It’s there for a light kick.
Adding some texture are chunky bits of peach, mango and dried papaya mixed into the juice.
Pistachio Latte ($7.80)
Make your coffee a little nutty and green with the Pistachio Latte.
This concoction mixes espresso with frothed milk for the base, and adds a nutty roasted Sicilian pistachio for the oomph. Would recommend to have this hot when served to better appreciate the nutty fragrance.
Customise your drink by switching milk from regular to oat, almond or soy milk.
Black Sesame Macchiato ($7.80)
Enjoy the life with this extra frothy beverage made with rich, velvety goma topped with thick layers of a silky-smooth milk froth sprinkled with black sesame seeds.
For a touch of local flavour, this coffee is served with fried dough glazed with goma paste.
Don’t want dairy? Opt for the oat, almond or soy milk.
Pair the drinks up with petite cakes, including the best-selling mango-flavoured Golden Dream ($9.80), Summer Berries ($9.80), Devil’s Chocolate ($8.50), BanaNuts ($9.80), Tropical Delight ($9.80), Classic Marble Cheesecake ($8.50), Chocolate Confession ($8.50), and French Opera ($9.80) – essentially tcc’s take of Tiramisu.
